About KWE
Keith Willard was born to do this. Starting at age six, he created hayrides in his backyard to raise money for the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Then in high school he spent his time working on the social committee that was responsible for homecoming dances and Friday night football games. Even in college at the University of Texas at Arlington, Keith worked on the tradition’s council developing everything from bed races to spring dances.
After college, Keith became the Executive Director for a small nonprofit where he used his creativity to stretch every dollar. From fundraising affairs to creating programs, staying in budget was crucial for the success of the non-profit and its ability to continue to serve the community.
After several years, Keith realized that he loved creating once in a lifetime events. So began the start of his first company – Feature Presentations Inc. His client list soon included companies like Nokia where he guided their international launch of cellphone products, Capital Markets Day, and the creation of Club Nokia. Other events sent him all over the world that included creating intimate dinners with a private chef to parties with thousands of participants for a gala at Madame Tussauds in London. He even created a ‘backyard barbecue’ for Mark Cuban’s 40th birthday, complete with a private concert by John Mellencamp.
Then the economy fell out from under everyone. Not one to sit around, Keith decided to head to South Florida to begin again! He took a job as a social catering manager for the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. That is when he found is his real passion, Weddings, and social events. Over the next six years, Keith went from entry level catering manager to Director of Catering for Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour. Once he felt he had learned all that he could, he knew it was time to go back out on his own, and Keith Willard Events was born.
Over the last eight years, Keith has helped hundreds of couples in the planning of their perfect day. All his experiences now allow him to keep couples calm, negotiate contracts, build room blocks, design unique visuals, and handle any possible situation to ensure a seamless day.
Keith believes that the planning process should be full of joy! It is not the question that usually causes stress, but the time waiting for an answer. Which is why all his clients have Keiths personal cell phone and can text him any time. His one and only job is to ensure that couples have their perfect day, on budget, and on time.
